Content Cambiare 323 (Hauptwerk) for Glenstal Abbey

Return to overview

The Benedictine Abbey of Glenstal Abbey, an iconic site with a rich cultural history, has recently expanded its musical facilities with the installation of a Content Cambiare 323, equipped with Hauptwerk™. The new instrument is a valuable addition to the existing pipe organ and supports the daily liturgical practice of singing, prayer, and services.

The historic abbey, known for its monumental gate, impressive church, and serene gardens, is used daily by the monastic community and the choir. In the search for a second organ, flexibility was key, without compromising on sound quality and authenticity. This balance was found in the Cambiare 323, featuring an extensive audio system and high-quality sample sets from Romsey Abbey and Caen.

Abbot Columba McCann OSB, who is also the abbey’s organist, explains:
“The Cambiare 323 offers us a remarkable richness of tonal colours and styles. The instrument enables us to support both the daily choral office and larger celebrations even more effectively. The combination of the Romsey Abbey and Caen sample sets suits the acoustics of our church beautifully and enriches our liturgy in a very natural way.”

Thanks to its compact design and intuitive operation, the instrument integrates seamlessly into the church interior and the musical life of Glenstal Abbey. The installation underlines the abbey’s ongoing commitment to quality, tradition, and innovation in liturgical music.
