Triple Concert

by Martin Mans, Martin Zonnenberg and André Knevel

On August 26, we continue a beautiful tradition: Martin Mans, Martin Zonnenberg, and André Knevel will once again give a special triple concert in our concert hall. These three musician friends will present a varied program featuring beloved organ works, surprising improvisations, and ensemble performances in various combinations – solo, in duos, and even all three playing together.

It promises to be an atmospheric evening, during which you'll experience the unique connection between these three organ friends in concert.

The concert will primarily be performed on Content’s concert organ, the Concerto Jubileo 40. Additionally, the musicians will use several other organs, creating a rich and varied sound palette.

You are warmly invited on Monday, August 26.
The concert begins at 8:00 PM, and doors open at 7:30 PM.
Admission is free, but reservations are required.

You can reserve by emailing: marketing@contentorgels.nl or by calling 0341 - 554876.

We look forward to welcoming you on August 26!

About our musicians:

Martin Mans

Martin Mans was born in 1965 in Melissant. It was on the island of Goeree-Overflakkee in South Holland that he discovered his passion for the organ. At the age of seven, Martin Mans started taking his first organ lessons, and at eleven, he took on the task of accompanying various choirs. By the age of twelve, he became the regular church organist at the church in his hometown. During his youth, Mans won several competitions. His radio performance on the NCRV at the age of fourteen quickly followed the competitions. Therefore, the foundation of his organ playing was laid at an early age. In addition to his organ studies, Martin Mans also professionalized in choir direction.

In 1995, Mans became the organist at the Breepleinkerk in Rotterdam, where he remains active to this day. He has participated in over five hundred CD recordings. With great enthusiasm, he then went on to produce a series of DVDs. Through his sales successes, Martin Mans received one platinum and two gold records. He achieved this not by sitting still. On average, he performs two hundred and fifty concerts each year, not only within the country but also abroad. His international concert tours have taken him through Europe, Canada, the United States, Australia, and South Africa.

Martin Zonnenberg

Martin Zonnenberg (born in 1958) developed an interest in the "king of instruments"—the organ—at an early age. By the age of 12, he was already accompanying several choirs.

He obtained diplomas in choral conducting and school music. Martin Zonnenberg serves as the organist of the Dutch Reformed Church in Sliedrecht (Naber organ, 1852). He is the conductor of the Christian Sliedrecht Male Choir Ichtus (170 members), the Ichtus Men’s Ensemble (IME), and the chamber choir Concertino.

He is also a composer and arranger for the well-known Dutch TV program Nederland Zingt. Outside Europe, he has performed as a conductor, pianist, and organist in Israel, Canada, and the United States. As a composer, he is known for his instrumental arrangements and numerous compositions for choir, organ, orchestra, and more. In 2002, he was appointed a Member of the Order of Orange-Nassau.

André Knevel

Organist André Knevel was born in Bussum, the Netherlands. From a very young age, he felt drawn to the organ. At the age of 8, he began taking organ and piano lessons. His teachers included Dr. J.A.M. van Stokkum, Rutger van Mazijk, and Willem Hendrik Zwart. André Knevel gave his first official organ concert at the age of 19. Shortly thereafter, he was appointed organist of the Reformed Congregation in Hilversum.

In 1975, André Knevel emigrated to Canada, where he settled in St. Catharines, Ontario. There, he is affiliated with several Christian schools as a music teacher and also serves as a church organist. He continued his organ studies with Dr. John Tuttle, an organ instructor at the Royal Conservatory in Toronto, who prepared André for Organ Diploma B.

André Knevel regularly tours in Canada, the United States, Europe, and South Africa. A highly sought-after organist, he returns to the Netherlands and Germany each summer for a concert tour of 30 to 40 performances. He has released a large number of CDs. Through his music, he hopes to share his gifts and talents with his audience, but above all, it is his desire that it may serve to the glory and honor of God. In 2010, he celebrated his 40th anniversary as an organist.
