Faroe Islands - Vestmanna Kirkja

A new chapter in the musical history of Vestmanna Kirkja on the Faroe Islands has recently begun in a very special place in northern Europe. In this charming church, a Chapel 346 has been installed, featuring a custom-designed pipe front that perfectly complements the church's interior.

Installation

The choice of this specific instrument was made after a careful selection process. Both the church council and the organists took their time to compare and play various models from our Chapel collection. The Chapel 346 stood out due to its rich sound, versatility, and refined finish—an instrument fully tailored to the acoustics of this unique church space.

Our colleagues traveled last month to the Faroe Islands for the installation and tuning of the organ. During this process, the organ was carefully adjusted to the space to ensure it could reach its full tonal potential.

Inaugural concert

The inauguration took place in a festive setting: the church was filled for a special concert by Gerwin Boswijk, who presented the new organ to the congregation. The reactions from the attending parishioners, organists, and Pastor Maria Summers Nolsoe were heartwarming. During the same service, the organ was officially dedicated by the pastor.

We extend our thanks to our Faroese partner Jan Terje Edmundsson, Pastor Maria Summers Nolsoe, Organist Olavur Jacobsen, and, of course, Gerwin Boswijk for his contribution to the inauguration concert.

We wish the congregation of Vestmanna much joy, musical inspiration, and listening pleasure with their new Chapel 346!
